James has stage managed across the country at theatres in cities including New York, Princeton, Charleston, Washington D.C., Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Las Vegas, and San Francisco. Here in the Southern California area he has stage managed at the Geffen / Westwood Playhouse, Los Angeles Theatre Center, LaJolla Playhouse and South Coast Repertory. He is very proud to have a long-term association with the Ahmanson / Mark Taper Forum where he has stage-managed 98 plays / musicals. Jimmie is in his second five year elected term on the Council of Actors™ Equity Association, the governing body of his fellow actors and stage managers union. Also, at AEA, he is chairman of the Western regional Stage Managers™ Committee, and co-chair of the LORT committee. In 2001 he was the first stage manager to be named as the outstanding professional stage manager in whose name the USITT Outstanding Stage Manager Award was given. The 2005 / 2006 school year will mark Jimmie's 10th year on the faculty of CalArts.
