Dwight Bacquie is an actor and actor-trainer of extensive experience. Classically trained, he holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts-Drama degree from Concordia University (Montreal) and a Master of Fine Arts -- Acting degree from the Yale School of Drama. His professional stage experience is broad and includes performing at the Stratford Shakespearean Festival. In addition, he has performed over thirty television roles, including guest-starring roles on The Division, Buffy, The Vampire Slayer and Passions as well as principal roles on the TV movie, Victim of Beauty, the miniseries The Sound and The Silence and the Emmy-nominated Family Pictures. His most recent stage appearances include Othello in Shakespeare Orange County's Othello, Antonio in A Noise Within's The Tempest and Donny in Portland Stage's American Buffalo.
An accomplished actor-trainer, Dwight has taught Speech, Voice and Acting at schools, studios and privately for the past fifteen years. His teaching credentials include teaching Voice and Speech at New School of Drama (Toronto), Dialects/Accents and Accent Reduction at Stella Adler Academy (Hollywood) and Acting while serving as the principal Acting Instructor in the University of Utah's B.F.A Actor Training Program. He is the recipient of a Stratford Festival Tyrone Guthrie Award as well as Canada Council arts grants. He is also a former Theatre Panelist for the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts.
