Special Events

CalArts hosts a wide range of events that involve our supporters in the life of the Institute, from the annual REDCAT gala to intimate receptions at donors' homes. Members of our Friends of CalArts (FoCA) and REDCAT Circle giving societies are invited to exclusive events and salons that tap into the unique creative energy of CalArts and provide access to today's cultural innovators that is unequalled by any other institution in the region.

FoCA Events

FoCA members at all levels of participation enjoy biannual events ranging from intimate living room salons to private tours of local arts institutions to exclusive gatherings featuring the work of our most prominent alumni. In addition, FoCA members are invited to celebrate the arts with arts-lovers of all ages at the annual FoCA family events.

FoCA Dean's Salons

FoCA members at the Benefactor level and higher have an opportunity to engage with one of CalArts' deans or program directors, artistic leaders who are at the forefront of today's creative and aesthetic trends. The Dean's Salons are individually crafted experiences designed to provide an in-depth exploration of our donors' cultural interests.

REDCAT Circle Salons

Inspired by the salons hosted by artistic and literary provocateurs of the past, the REDCAT Salons are often held at private residences, providing members the opportunity to meet and mingle with performing and visual artists, and to engage in lively discussions with fellow patrons, the REDCAT Council, CalArts trustees and community leaders. Each salon highlights a REDCAT artists or issue in the ever-changing fields of contemporary visual, performing and media arts.
